And here are the answers to those questions ...
1. What kind of cars do you offer? The bulk of the vehicles we offer are priced under $10,000. We offer any make or model we can acquire that can be priced to you for less than $10,000. We do have exceptions to this rule, though. Some vehicles have horrible reputations for reliability. For example, it is very rare we will offer any Cadillac sedan ... the engines are simply ruined if they ever run hot. Other than that, we first look for vehicles with solid engines, transmissions, and drivetrains. Next we look at the air condition systems. Just because the air condition is not blowing cold, though, does not mean the system needs large repairs. If you come across a vehicle fresh into our inventory and the air condition is not working, it's very likely our professional opinion is that the air condition system needs minor repairs. Finally, we try to acquire vehicles that have at least a decent cosmetic appeal. There's no reason that just because your credit makes it necessary to buy your car from a BHPH dealer that you have to ride in a car that looks like junk.
2. Do you have cash cars & trucks? Yes! Some dealers pull you in with a low price and then tell you they have to add thousands to the price if you need financing. Not at Mike Klein Motor Co. Read further how we determine our list prices, but whatever price we have listed, feel free to make a CASH OFFER. We will discount for a reasonable cash offer! Kelly Blue Book and other similar price guides are just that: GUIDES. However, we align our pricing with KBB retail values as closely as possible. However, vehicles in exceptionally good condition or with unusually low miles, frankly, have a higher demand which, in turn, means they will have a higher price. You get what you pay for.
3. I don't quite have enough cash ... will you work with me? Absolutely! We WANT to sell cars, not sit around watching dust collect on them. As a result, we constantly look for new ways to make buying a used car easier to accomplish. One way we do this is with our 90 Day Same As Cash program. Call 281-376-4119 for more details!
4. I need financing but can't get approved anywhere else ... can you help me? Definitely! We can help you when even other Buy Here Pay Here dealers cannot. We don't need proof of how much income you have, we simply need to know you do have an income. In fact, there are only four things you need to bring with you when you come to Mike Klein Motor Co . ---

Your down payment
5. What is a "Buy Here Pay Here" dealer? A Buy Here Pay Here dealer is a dealership that also serves as a finance company. Buy Here Pay Here dealers finance only vehicles they are offering for sale. Since they are, in essence, the finance company, each BHPH dealer can make its own rules for financing vehicles.
6. Are you a reputable company? We certainly feel we are and we believe we have the proof that we are ... or rather, the lack of proof. You see, although car dealers have a lot of bad reputations for a lot of good reasons, we have zero negative complaints against us at the Better Business Bureau. We have never had a legal action taken against us. We've never had a complaint filed against us with the Texas Department of Transportation or the Texas OCCC. Simply put, we've never had a complaint against us that went unresolved or that was with merit.
7. What kind of terms can I expect? We try to get each financed deal to line up to $325 per month for 18 months or less. However, each situation is different and every vehicle requires a different down payment. As a result, you can expect to get a payment somewhere between $275 and $450 per month for up to 21 months or less. Yes, the interest rate itself will seem high. However, the rates we charge are approved by the Texas OCCC, for starters. More importantly is the actual dollar amount of the finance charges. On average our customers pay $1100 in finance charges for their vehicle, not the $7000 or $8000 you'll pay in finance charges on an $18,000 car financed for 60 months or longer.
8. How can Mike Klein Motor Co. make these offers? Every business has its own business model, but everyone at Mike Klein Motor Co worked for a dealer many years ago that had this one simple philosophy: "Whether its a $30,000 car or $3000 car, I make the same profit. With that in mind, I'd rather sell ten $3000 cars than one $30,000 car." And there it is. We deal in volume. Granted, it may not be the volume of a new car dealer ... but we spend an average of $15 per vehicle in advertising while a new car dealer can spend an average of $300 or more on advertising. Our overhead is a fraction of what a new car dealer experiences so we can offer great deals on low priced cars.
9. Do your cars have a warranty? Amazingly enough not even new car dealers warranty the new cars they sell. If you doubt me, I challenge you to ask the service manager at any new car dealership if he will warranty the new cars at that dealership or does the factory. The factory does. That in mind, it is true that we DO NOT have warranties on the vehicles we sell. However, we do offer warranties you can purchase at an extra charge from a very reputable, nationwide warranty company.
10. Yeah, but Buy Here Pay Here dealers repo cars if I'm late just one time ... We can't answer for what other car dealers do when it comes to repossessing cars but we can tell you about our aims. When we first began offering financing, we looked very closely at the traditional BHPH business model. Traditionally, yes, BHPH dealers are eager to repossess your car. However, that model doesn't work for us. By the time we have to pay the repo man, skip tracing costs, repair and reconditioning costs and a host of other expenses ... we lose money when we repossess cars. Sometimes it just has to be done anyway, but what we've found is that in working with customers we have a repossession rate that is almost half the industry standard. So we definitely want you to pay the car off as agreed ... but that requires you to work with us. One of the things we require is two phone numbers to reach you at. The reason for that is because we are human too and understand that sometimes things come up you don't expect as far as your budget. If you will contact us, we will work with you as much as we can - something that's pretty much unheard of in the BHPH business. Still, I can't stress enough that it requires you to be responsible and call us to make arrangements and it requires you to live up to those arrangements.
